overhead cranes for workshops and warehouses are widely used material handling equipment in industrial production workshops and warehousing logistics sites, mainly for lifting raw materials, parts, equipment, and finished products. They are lifting devices that span across workshops, warehouses, or material yards to transport materials.
The core structure of overhead crane for workshops and warehouses mainly consists of three parts:
Bridge frame: Includes the main beam and end beams. The main beam adopts a box-type or truss structure and is the main load-bearing component. Both ends are rigidly connected to the end beams, which are equipped with wheels and supported on the corbels or load-bearing columns of the factory building.
Lifting trolley: Consists of a lifting mechanism, a trolley traveling mechanism, and lifting devices (such as hooks, grabs, electric disks, etc.), responsible for the vertical lifting and lateral movement of goods along the main beam.
Trolley traveling mechanism: Drives the entire crane to move along the longitudinal track of the workshop. It usually adopts a separate drive system, equipped with a geared motor and wear-resistant wheel sets.
Types of overhead cranes for workshops and warehouses
| overhead cranes |
Types |
Applicable |
| Single Girder overhead crane |
LD Single Girder overhead crane European Single Girder Bridge Crane |
for light material handling in small and medium-sized workshops, warehouses, and repair shops. Lifting capacity is generally 1-20 tons, with a relatively small span, offering excellent cost-effectiveness. |
| Double Girder overhead crane |
Standard double girder overhead crane European double girder bridge crane Double girder overhead crane with hoist |
for heavy machinery plants, metallurgical workshops, steel warehouses, and other scenarios requiring the handling of heavy workpieces or bulk materials, meeting the needs of high-frequency, continuous operation. |
| Special Purpose overhead crane |
Grab bucket overhead crane overhead crane with hook Electromagnetic overhead crane Metallurgy overhead crane Explosion-proof overhead crane |
for metallurgical plants, scrap steel processing workshops (electromagnetic bridge cranes), as well as cement plants, chemical plants, coal yards (grab bucket bridge cranes), paper mills, and aluminum workshops. |
